DSU Win Streak Snapped at Four with 8-2 Loss at Centenary

Hackettstown, NJ (April 7, 2012) – The DeSales University men's lacrosse team saw its four game win streak snapped on Saturday afternoon, falling at Centenary College, 8-2, in a non-conference game.

The Bulldogs (6-4 overall) will now enter Freedom Conference play one win shy of tying the mark for wins in a season (7).  DSU begins conference play next Saturday at Eastern University beginning at 2:30 pm.  Centenary improves to 3-7 with the win.

DSU had a 32-22 edge in shots, while CC enjoyed a 29-23 advantage in ground balls.  Centenary jumped out early, scoring three times in the first and second to take a 6-1 halftime edge and the Bulldogs were never able to recover.

Freshman Nate Blevins and senior Brendan Guerrier scored DSU's two goals, while senior Ryan Olah had an assist.  Guerrier also had eight ground balls and six caused turnovers.  Junior Brennan Gmeiner won 9-of-12 face-offs and had four ground balls and freshman Jake Ross totaled six saves.
