Boston, MA (September 8, 2012) – Despite out-shooting Western New England University, 16-13, the DeSales University women's soccer team was unable to get on the scoreboard as WNEC earned a 1-0 win in the opening game of the Simmons College Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

The game was scoreless entering the 78th minute when Western New England struck, scoring on a header off a corner kick for the game's lone goal.

Senior Alex Bastinelli and freshman Taylor Cowan combined to make saves in net for the Bulldogs.  DSU returns to action tomorrow when they take on SUNY-New Paltz in the second game of the tournament beginning at 12:00 pm.
