Center Valley, PA (January 12, 2013) – Junior Sondrine Glovas scored 17 of her game-high 25 points in the second-half as the DeSales University women's basketball broke open a close game at the half out-scoring the Aggies, 54-33, in the second-half en route to an 82-57 win in Freedom Conference action on Saturday afternoon in Billera Hall.

Glovas shot 9-for-13 from the field and canned 3-of-5 from downtown, while also pulling down nine boards in the win.  Junior Alexiah Grant and senior Colleen Gavin each added 17points with Gavin totaling nine boards and Grant swiping eight balls off the glass as DSU out-rebounded DVC, 56-43.

The game was back-and-forth thru out the first-half featuring three ties and five lead changes before the Bulldogs out-scored the Aggies 14-7 over the final nine minutes to take a 28-24 lead into the halftime locker room.

DSU really struggled shooting in the first 20 minutes, connecting on just 25.0 percent from the field, but did an excellent job taking care of the ball, committing just five turnovers.

The second-half was all Bulldogs as DeSales shot 56.8 percent over the final 20 minutes led by Glovas who keyed a 19-6 run to start the half as the lead swelled from four points to 17 points in just 5:23.  Glovas scored 13 of those 19 points as DSU never looked back building as much as a 24-point lead three times before the final 25-point margin.

Junior Megan Gallagher finished with a team-high 10 rebounds and five steals and freshman Brittany Pierzga gave the Bulldogs a boost off the bench with 10 points and six boards.  Senior Taylor Greene also dished out a game-high eight assists and has just two turnovers.

Brenna Coll (11 and 10) and Emily Soper (14 and 12) each recorded double-doubles and Eireann Anastasi had a team-high 15 points in the loss.

The Bulldogs are right back at it on Monday when they host undefeated Baruch College in the final non-conference game of the season beginning at 6:00 pm.
