Brett Moyer recorded his seventh double-double of the season with 22 points and 10 rebounds and freshman
Cody Deal came off the bench to score 12 points as the Bulldogs stayed unbeaten in Freedom Conference play with a 69-55 win over King's College on Wednesday evening in Scandlon Gymnasium.
Moyer shot 9-for-12 from the field and Deal added eight rebounds and a team-high three assists in the win. Junior
Mike Coleman also reached double digits with 12 points.
DSU trailed 9-6 early before a 12-0 run gave it the lead for good at the 8:36 mark of the first-half (18-9). Moyer led the charge with eight of the 12 points.
A Deal three ball at the 3:20 mark made it 29-19 before the Monarchs closed the gap and trailed by just four points (35-31) at the break.
King's closed to within one point (40-39) at the start of the second-half but a 13-2 run highlighted by two Deal treys and capped off by a three-point play from junior
Andrew Kohler gave DSU a 53-41 lead with 12:39 to go.
The Monarchs had one last charge in them pulling to within five points (53-48) with 9:49 to play but once again DeSales had the answer scoring the next 13 points to lead 66-48 finishing off the Monarchs.
DSU shot 52.3 percent from the field and out-rebounded King's, 37-31, in the win.
King's only had one player reach double digits,
Tom Heston, with 10 points.
DeSales returns to action on Saturday when they host Delaware Valley College in a Freedom Conference game beginning at 3:00 pm.
