Center Valley, PA (October 15, 2013) – FDU-Florham scored 1:35 into the game and again with just 2:46 left in the first half to lead 2-1 at the break and that score stood up in the second-half as the DeSales University women's soccer team dropped its Freedom Conference home opener 2-1 on Tuesday afternoon.
The Devils (7-8, 1-2 Freedom) scored just 1:35 into the game when

Samantha Messina on the right sideline and Messina beat junior goalkeeper
Michelle Churchman low and to the left for a 1-0 lead.
DeSales (6-5-3, 0-2-1 Freedom) was able to tie the game in the 21st minute when senior

FDU-Florham turned up the pressure on offense over the final 10 minutes of the half and it paid off as the Devils took the lead with just 2:46 left to go in the opening 45 minutes when
Colleen Furbeck sent a long pass thru the defense and Churchman hesitated before coming off her line to try and beat the charging forward to the ball, but
Michelle Hickey, was a step quicker, touched it past a diving Churchman and scored in the open net.
DSU had a couple of chances late in the second-half to tie the game but a shot by sophomore
Jamie Barna was ride right and a shot from senior
Brady Walsh with just about 25 seconds left sailed just left of the far post as time expired on the comeback.
