Bulldogs Roll to Fourth Straight Win, 81-64, over PSU-Berks

Center Valley, PA (December 11, 2013) – Senior Andrew Kohler tossed in a career-high 16 points leading three players in double digits as the DeSales University men's basketball team rolled to its fourth straight win, 81-64, over PSU-Berks in a non-conference game on Wednesday evening in Billera Hall.

Kohler shot 6-for-9 from the field and was one of four Bulldogs to pull down a team-high six rebounds in the win.  Senior Kyle Hash continued his hot streak with his third straight double digit scoring game totaling 14 points, six rebounds, and five assists.  Sophomore Cody Deal also reached double figures with 13 points and added six rebounds.

Senior Paul Pammer finished with five points, six rebounds, and six assists and senior Cory Schmidt led the bench with nine points.  DSU's bench continued to play well out-scoring the Nittany Lions, 29-11.

PSU-Berks had four players in double digits including Darren Major (17), Joel Ellison (13), Christian Burggraf (11), and Dameon Nixon (10).

DeSales (7-2, 2-0 Freedom) never trailed in this one scoring the first nine points of the game and opening up a 19-4 advantage seven minutes into the game.

PSU-Berks (2-6 overall) chipped away and pulled within six points a few times before the Bulldogs used a 9-1 run to end the half for a 43-28 halftime lead.

Again DSU started strong in the second-half, scoring the first 14 points to take a 29-point lead on a Deal three-pointer at the 16:05 mark and the Bulldogs were never threatened the rest of the half.

DSU shot 42.3 percent from three-point land, hitting on 11-of-26 and dominated the glass out-rebounding the Nittany Lions, 51-35.  The Bulldogs also shared the ball well recording 20 assists on 27 made baskets in the win.

DeSales returns to action on Saturday when they host local rival Muhlenberg College in another important regional game beginning at 3:00 pm.
