Madison, NJ (December 4, 2013) – Senior Paul Pammer scored 19 points and fellow senior Andrew Kohler added a career-high 15 points leading the DeSales University men's basketball team to a 78-62 win at FDU-Florham in the Freedom Conference season opener for both teams on Wednesday evening.

Pammer shot 6-for-8 from the field and Kohler was 7-for-11 as the Bulldogs shot 48.1 percent from the field and 53.8 percent from three-point land.  Sophomore Ryan Furst added 10 points off the bench and senior Mike Coleman had nine points.  Sophomores Cody Deal and Travis Bryan each had eight rebounds to lead on the glass.  All 11 players that saw action scored in the game.

John Flete led the Devils with 19 points and Kevin Furlong had 13 points.  Will Boman finished with nine points off the bench.

FDU got off to a quick start in the game scoring the first seven points before the Bulldogs chipped away at the deficit and took an 11-10 lead on a three from junior Jake Hungarter at the 11:38 mark.  The Devils re-took a 14-13 lead at 9:51 before seven straight points capped off by a triple from Pammer.

The Devils tied the game with back-to-back three-pointers but DeSales took control from there finishing the half on a 17-4 run to take a 37-24 lead into the locker rooms.  Pammer led the charge with seven points as five different players scored during the run.

The second-half was all DeSales as the Bulldogs opened with a 9-3 run to take a 46-27 advantage and pushed the lead to as many as 28 points before the final margin was posted.

The Bulldogs had a terrific defensive effort, holding the Devils to just 28.8 percent shooting for the game.  DSU also out-rebounded FDU, 44-38.

DeSales returns home to host Wilkes University in another Freedom Conference game on Saturday afternoon beginning at 3:00 pm.
