Madison, NJ (February 10, 2013) – The Bulldogs fell behind big early, trailing 21-2 just 6:21 into the game, and were never able to fully recover, falling 76-57 at FDU-Florham in Freedom Conference action on Sunday afternoon at the Ferguson Recreation Center.

Junior Alexiah Grant led the way with 16 points, junior Faith Gilbert had 13 points, and junior Sondrine Glovas added 10 points in the loss.

FDU connected on 9 of its first 12 shots, including three treys, and the Bulldogs committed nine turnovers over the first 7:35 to fall behind by 19 early.  The Devils lead grew to as many as 22 points in the first-half and remained 22 at the break (42-20).

The Devils shot 53.1 percent in the opening half and DSU committed 18 first-half turnovers leading to 23 of FDU's 42 points.

DSU played much better in the second-half but once again started slowly as FDU increased its lead to as many 28 points early (50-22) before the Bulldogs began chipping away.  DeSales used a 10-2 run to make it a 20-point game and slowly chipped away to pull within 17 points (57-40) with 8:51 left to play.  A four-point play by FDU's Leigh-Ann Lively quieted any thoughts of a Bulldog comeback and DSU never got any closer than 17 the rest of the way.

The Bulldogs did a much better job of taking care of the ball in the second-half committing just six turnovers.  FDU shot 50.0 percent for the game and out-rebounding the Bulldogs, 36-27.  FDU had 32 points off DSU's 24 turnovers.

Jalessa Lewis and Kyra Dayon each had 19 points to lead FDU.  Rachel Groom added 17 points and Lively finished with 10 points in the win.

The Bulldogs have a quick turnaround and will return to action on Tuesday when they host Wilkes University in a Freedom Conference game beginning at 6:00 pm.
