Center Valley, PA (February 19, 2013) – After narrowly missing the playoffs last season the DeSales University men's basketball team is hungry and looking to earn its third Freedom Conference championship when it begins play in the playoffs on Wednesday evening at home as the #1 seed hosting fourth seeded FDU-Florham at 7:00 pm.
The Bulldogs enter with a 20-5 overall record and finished as the top team in the regular season with a 12-2 mark earning the coveted #1 seed in the playoffs. The 20 wins mark the ninth time in the last 11 years the Bulldogs have won 20+ games.
Admission for the event will be $6.00 for adults, $4.00 for senior citizens, and $2.00 for students w/ID. All children under the age of six are FREE and all DeSales students who have a valid ID will be admitted for FREE.

DeSales/FDU-Florham Series:
DeSales owns a 22-13 lead in the all-time series between the two teams including a sweep of the season series this year. This will be the first-ever meeting between the two teams in the Freedom Conference post-season. Overall the Bulldogs have won three straight and are 13-4 vs. the Devils at home.
Regular Season Series
Game One at DeSales (W/82-71)
DeSales led by 17 points at the break and built as much as a 22-point lead in the second-half before the FDU bench made a late run to get the Devils within nine before the final 11-point margin was posted. Junior
Mike Coleman led the way with 23 points and senior
Brett Moyer had 15 points and nine rebounds. DSU shot 49.0 percent from the field and made 11 three-pointers, while also dominating the glass, out-rebounding FDU, 43-32.
Game Two at FDU-Florham (W/64-55)
DeSales used an 8-0 run late in the second-half to pull away from the Devils in recording a nine-point road win. Junior
Paul Pammer was the scoring leader this time with 16 points and junior
Mike Coleman finished with 12 points, including 10 in the second-half of the game. DSU shot 49.0 percent for the game for the second time vs. the Devils and committed just 11 turnovers in the win.
DeSales in the Freedom Playoffs:
DeSales is making its 11th appearance in the Freedom Conference playoffs. The Bulldogs have won two Freedom Conference Championships (2008-09 and 2009-10) and have reached the Freedom Conference title game in each of their last six playoff appearances. Overall DeSales has a 9-8 career mark in the Freedom Conference post-season and are 8-4 at home in the conference post-season.
FDU-Florham in the Freedom Playoffs:
FDU-Florham is making its 12th career appearance in the MAC/Freedom Conference post-season. FDU had an overall record of 4-11 in the Freedom playoffs.
About the Bulldogs:
As mentioned above the Bulldogs have won 20+ games for the ninth time in the last 11 years and earned the #1 seed in the post-season with a conference best 12-2 Freedom Conference record. Senior
Brett Moyer is the team leader averaging 15.7 points and 8.5 rebounds per game, while shooting 59.8 percent from the field which entering the week was ranked 19th in the country. Moyer also has a team-high nine double-doubles on the season. Junior
Mike Coleman also averages double digits at 11.5 points per game and fellow junior
Paul Pammer is just behind him at 11.1 points per game with a team-high 29 made three-pointers. As a team, DSU is ranked 12th in the country in field goal percentage (.495) and sixth in the country in three-point shooting percentage (.417) and boasts eight players who have made at least 12 three's on the season including Pammer (29), freshman

Kyle Hash (12). DeSales is also ranked 13th in the country in free throw shooting percentage (.753) and 12th in rebounding margin (+8.3). The Bulldogs are 14-1 this season when scoring 70+ points, 12-1 at home including having won six straight, 12-1 when they shoot better than 50 percent from the field, and 15-1 when they shoot better than 35 percent from outside the arc.
About the Devils:
FDU-Florham enters the post-season with a 12-13 overall record and a 7-7 mark in the Freedom. Junior
Trevor Sykes leads the team in scoring (13.3 PPG) and blocked shots with 16. Senior
Mike Williamson averages double digits at 12.9 points per game and has made a team-high 56 three-pointers this season, while junior
Will Green is also averaging double digits at 10.6 points per game and leads the team on the glass at 9.4 per game. Senior
Derek Hall is also a key member of the Devils averaging 9.2 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.
