Box Score
Center Valley, PA (August 30, 2013) – That didn't take long.  Just one game into her collegiate head coaching career Heather Kemp has a win as the Bulldogs shutout Gwynedd-Mercy College, 3-0, in the 2013 season opener on Friday afternoon.

DSU dominated play on Friday, outshooting the Griffins, 17-1, and held a 5-0 edge in corner kicks in the game.  Junior Michelle Churchman did not need to make a save in recording the first shutout of her career.

Junior Megan Strauser got the scoring started, knocking home the rebound of a sliding shot attempt from senior Brady Walsh that caromed off the Griffin goalkeeper after a centering pass from senior Ashley Koren in the 34th minute.

The Bulldogs struck once more just 40 seconds before the half when senior Taylor Batcsics saw a corner kick feed bounce around and out to her at the top of the box and she blasted a shot into the right corner of the net for her third career goal giving DSU a 2-0 advantage.

DeSales finished off its scoring in the 56th minute when Walsh dribbled into the box and to the right end line firing a pass across the goalmouth to a streaking sophomore Jamie Barna who one touched it into the net for the eventual final margin.

The Bulldogs are right back at it tomorrow when they travel to Chestertown, MD to take on Washington College beginning at 7:00 pm.
