Madison, NJ (September 14, 2013) – Drew University was awarded a PK in the 67th minute and scored again in the 70th minute erasing a 1-0 Bulldog lead and earning a 2-1 win over DeSales University in a non-conference game on Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs (3-1-2) suffer their first loss of the season. After a scoreless first-half, DeSales took a 1-0 lead in the 55th minute when junior
Alyssa Borgesi took control of her own rebound and scored unassisted, her first tally of the year.
The lead stood into the 67th minute when the Rangers (4-1) were awarded a penalty kick on a foul just inside the box in which Liz Loiodice deposited the PK to tie the game. Drew then broke the tie just 3:11 later as Katie O'Keefe scored off a pass from Bridget McRory.
Drew finished the game with a 25-15 edge in shots and both teams had five corners. Junior
Michelle Churchman played well making 11 saves in between the pipes for DeSales.
The Bulldogs will look to start a new unbeaten streak on Tuesday, September 17th when they host Albright College in a non-conference game beginning at 4:00 pm.
