Rosemont, PA (January 11, 2014) – Four players reached double digits including junior Alex Suk who posted her fourth double-double of the season with 16 points and 13 rebounds leading the DeSales University women's basketball team to its seventh straight win, a 96-74 win at Rosemont College in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.

Suk was one of four players in double digits including senior Megan Gallagher with 15 points and eight rebounds, senior Alexiah Grant with 18 points, and senior Sondrine Glovas who missed a triple-double by just one board and three steals finishing with 20 points, nine rebounds, and seven steals.

The Ravens got a game-high 25 points from Liz Coyne to go along with eight rebounds and Kierra Smith had 12 points.  Brianna Macauley added 15 points off the bench in the loss.

Despite the final score the Bulldogs got off to a slow start scoring the first three points of the game on a three from Glovas before RC went on a 9-1 run to take a 9-4 lead 3:14 into the game.  That score remained five minutes in before Glovas ended the scoring drought with a lay-up.

That lay-up ignited a 35-8 run over the next 10:47 giving DSU a 38-17 lead on a three-point play from Suk as the Bulldogs held a 50-32 advantage at the break.

The second-half was all Bulldogs as the lead never fell below 16 points and peaked at 31 points (79-48) with 9:50 left to play.

DSU shot 41.4 percent from the field and hit on 19-of-25 from the free throw line (76.0%).  The Bulldogs dominated the glass, out-rebounding Rosemont, 59-35, and forced 25 Raven turnovers scoring 36 points off those miscues.  DeSales had 25 second-chance points off 29 offensive rebounds.

Senior Julia Duffy added eight points off the bench and sophomore Kelly Anthony and freshman Morgan McCollian each had six tallies off the pine.  Junior Ciara O'Neill had five assists in the win.

The Bulldogs return to action on Wednesday when they host King's College in a Freedom Conference game beginning at 6:00 pm.
