Center Valley, PA (January 12, 2014) – Sophomore Cody Deal scored a game-high 19 points as the DeSales University men's basketball shot 57.7 percent from the field routing Medgar Evers College, 106-53, snapping DSU's three-game losing skid in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon.

Deal was one of four players in double digits for the Bulldogs, shooting 7-for-10 from the field and hitting three treys.  Senior Mike Coleman added 13 points, senior Andrew Kohler had 11 tallies, and senior Cory Schmidt finished with 10 points.  14 of the 16 players that appeared in the game reached the scoring column for the Bulldogs.

Khalid Yousef led the Cougars with 18 points and Valin Williams finished with 13 points and eight rebounds.

The Bulldogs were in control of this one right from the very start as Deal hit on a jumper just 13 seconds into the contest and scored DSU's first eight points of the game.  After a tip-in from Schmidt at the 12:04 mark, DeSales had a 27-7 lead and continued to dominate play over the final 12 minutes of the half taking a 62-32 lead into the locker room after a three from junior Michael Guldin to close out the half.

The lead never went below 30 points in the second-half and peaked to as many as 56 points twice before the final margin was posted.

In addition to the double digit scorers, seniors Paul Pammer and Drew Wilcox each had nine points and Guldin and senior Kyle Hash finished with eight tallies.

DSU dominated the glass, out-rebounding MEC, 50-34, and committed just six turnovers as compared to 26 assists.  The Bulldogs hit 14-of-24 (58.3%) from three-point land in the win.

The win concludes DSU's non-conference schedule for the season as the Bulldogs return to Freedom Conference play on Wednesday when they host King's College beginning at 8:00 pm in Billera Hall.
