Michelle Churchman made five saves, including saving a PK, and freshman
Rachel Logue scored her first career goal, the eventual game-winner, as the DeSales University women's soccer team stayed unbeaten in the Freedom Conference with a 3-0 win over Eastern University on Saturday afternoon.
Churchman records her eighth shutout of the season in the win to break the single-season record of seven set by
Kelly Hinkle in 2006. She now has 13 career shutouts. The win is also the first-ever for the Bulldogs (9-5-3, 6-0 Freedom) over Eastern University (5-12, 2-4 Freedom) in 10 career meetings. It is also the first time in team history DeSales has won six conference games in a season.
The Bulldogs will enter the final week of the regular season tied atop the Freedom Conference standings with 15
th ranked Misericordia University and will host those Cougars on Saturday, November 1
st with the winner receiving the #1 seed in the Freedom Conference Tournament the following week.

Belen Perez drew a foul just inside the box on the left side and freshman
Danni Engwall finished it off converting the PK to make it 3-0.
Eastern was awarded a penalty kick with less than 10 minutes left but Churchman was there to make the save and preserve her eighth shutout of the season.
DSU held a slight 13-12 edge in shots, while the Eagles had a 6-2 advantage on corner kicks.
Game time for Saturday vs. Misericordia is set for 2:30 pm.
