Sienna Heist had a season-high 21 kills and hit .370 for the match leading the DeSales University volleyball team past FDU-Florham, 3-2 (22-25, 25-16, 25-18, 24-26, 15-8), clinching the #2 seed in next week's Freedom Conference Tournament.
The Bulldogs (21-10, 6-1 Freedom) will host the #3 seed Misericordia University in the Freedom Conference Tournament semifinals on Wednesday with match time set for 7:00 pm in Billera Hall. Eastern University finishes as the #1 seed and Wilkes University earns the #4 spot in the post-season tournament.
Heist was outstanding on Wednesday putting away 21 kills on 46 attempts and committing just four errors for a .370 hitting percentage. Senior
Julie Blessing was just behind her with 18 kills and a .319 hitting percentage, while senior
Chrissy Banos (12 kills) and freshman
Logan Wieziolowski (11 kills) also had double-digit kills.
Wieziolowski continued her dominant play at the net, blocking six more attacks, while Banos and senior
Brooke Horrigan also had three blocks in the win.
Sophomore
Lisa Wallitsch had another all-around performance with 52 assists, 15 digs, and three blocks and senior
Amanda Wallitsch led the defense with 25 digs and added four aces. Junior
Laura Greenberg added 19 digs in the win.
The Bulldogs conclude the regular season on Saturday when they travel to Neumann University for a tri-match with Richard Stockton College.
