Bulldogs Split Crossover Matches at Messiah

Grantham, PA (October 4, 2014) – Freshman Logan Wieziolowski had a season-high 19 kills in the win over Lycoming College as the Bulldogs split their two matches on Saturday afternoon in the MAC Crossover hosted by Messiah College falling to the Falcons in the second match.
 
DSU started the day rallying from one set down to defeat Lycoming (12-11), 3-1 (25-27, 25-22, 25-22, 25-21).  Wieziolowski hit .389 for the match with 19 kills and added five blocks.  Senior Chrissy Banos finished with 14 kills and three blocks and senior Julie Blessing had 10 kills and four blocks.
 
Senior Brooke Horrigan finished with six kills and hit .294, while freshman Sienna Heist added eight kills and three blocks.  Sophomore Lisa Wallitsch totaled 50 assists and 16 digs in the win and senior Amanda Wallitsch added 26 digs.  Junior Lizzi Levis (12) and freshman Bernadette Wood (11) also had double digit dig totals.
 
The Bulldogs took the first set vs. host Messiah (25-18) but then dropped the next three by scores of 25-17, 25-23, 25-18.  Heist was the kill leader vs. the Falcons with nine kills.  Blessing added eight kills and Wieziolowski finished with seven.
 
Amanda Wallitsch had a tremendous match with 32 digs, while Lisa Wallitsch finished with 32 assists and 24 digs.  Levis added 23 digs and junior Laura Greenberg had 14 digs.
 
The Bulldogs return to action on Tuesday, October 7th when travel to Delaware Valley College for a Freedom Conference match beginning at 7:00 pm.
