Frostburg, MD (February 22, 2014) – The DeSales University men's lacrosse team dropped its 2014 season opener falling behind 5-0 early at Frostburg State before dropping a 12-3 decision in the first game for both teams on Saturday afternoon.

FSU (1-0) took a 2-0 lead after one quarter, scoring its second goal with just 46 seconds left in the opening quarter and tallied three goals over the first 5:31 of the second quarter before senior James Guerrier got the Bulldogs (0-1) on the board with 7:41 left in the half.

The two teams went scoreless over the final 7:41 as the Bobcats enjoyed a 5-1 lead over the first 30 minutes of play cruised in the second-half to earn the season-opening win.

Guerrier, senior Jacob Bernier, and freshman Tyler Newman scored DSU's three goals, while junior Ryan Rowse added an assist for the Bulldogs.  Junior Dylan Baxter picked up a team-high six ground balls and sophomore Matt Warnken made 16 saves in between the pipes in the loss.

The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday, March 1st when they travel to Immaculata University for a non-conference game beginning at 1:00 pm.
