Center Valley, PA (February 28, 2014) – The third seeded Bulldogs will travel to top seeded and undefeated FDU-Florham on Saturday in search of the program's seventh MAC/Freedom Conference Championship on Saturday afternoon at the Ferguson Recreation Center with tip set for 1:00 pm.
The Bulldogs (19-6, 9-5 Freedom) have never missed the Freedom Conference post-season since joining the conference at the start of the 1997-98 season, a span of 17 seasons. The Bulldogs advanced to the title game tomorrow with a 73-54 win over Eastern University on Wednesday evening giving DSU its 19th 20+ win season and the first since the 2008-09 year. It is the 12th 20+ win season under current head coach
Fred Richter in his 24th year on the sideline.
Game time is set for 1:00 pm and admission for the event will be $6.00 for adults, $4.00 for senior citizens, and $2.00 for students w/ID. All children under the age of six are FREE.

DeSales/FDU-Florham Series:
DeSales owns a 32-6 lead in the all-time series between the two teams but FDU-Florham has had the upper hand over the last two years winning each of the last four meetings. It is the second career meeting in the post-season with the first coming in the championship game in 2008, a 75-60 win over the Devils for the Bulldogs. DSU is 15-3 all-time at FDU.
Regular Season Series
Game One at FDU-Florham (FDU – 84-49)
FDU broke open a close game finishing the first-half on a 24-2 run and never looked back in the win. DSU shot just 29.3 percent in the loss and FDU hit 50.8 percent from the field in the win. Freshman
Megan Baird led DSU with eight points, while four Devils were in double digits including
Kyra Dayon with 17 points,
Shalette Brown and
Alyssa McDonough with 12 each, and
Rachel Groom with 10 points.
Game Two at DeSales (FDU – 87-57)
Again FDU shot very well, hitting 52.9 percent from the field and finished the game on a 23-4 run to earn the win. DSU had cut a 26-point deficit down to 11 points mid-way thru the second-half but ran out of gas. Senior
Alexiah Grant had 16 points to lead four players in double digits including senior
Sondrine Glovas with 11 points, senior
Megan Gallagher with 11 points, and freshman
Morgan McCollian with 13 points. The Devils were paced by
Shalette Brown with 16 points,
Jalessa Lewis with 15 points,
Kyra Dayon with 12 points, and
Leigh-Ann Lively with 11 points.
DeSales in the Freedom Playoffs:
DeSales is making its 17th straight Freedom Conference playoff appearance. DSU joined the Freedom Conference at the start of the 1997-98 season and hasn't missed the post-season. The Bulldogs have won six conference titles, including four of the last six, and are 19-10 all-time in the Freedom post-season. DSU is 7-9 all-time on the road in the Freedom playoffs.
FDU-Florham in the Freedom Playoffs:
The Devils are the defending conference champions having won their first Freedom Conference Championship last season with a win over King's College. FDU was also in the title game back in 2008 where they lost to the Bulldogs.
