Union, NJ (March 19, 2014) – The DeSales University men's lacrosse team out-shot Kean University, 50-33, for the game but dropped a 10-5 decision in non-conference action on a rainy Wednesday evening.
The Bulldogs (0-5) took a 1-0 lead just 50 seconds into the game when senior
Jacob Bernier scored unassisted but the Cougars (6-1) countered with three straight goals to take a 3-1 lead before DSU pulled within one just 3:50 before the half junior
Ryan Rowse scored off an assist from fellow junior
Ryan Loughlin.
Kean then took control at the start of the third quarter scoring four straight goals to take a 7-2 lead and never looked back from there.
Both Loughlin and Rowse scored twice with Loughlin adding two assists and freshman
Justin Wilson and junior
Nate Blevins each adding assists. Freshman
Tyle Davis and Rowse each had a team-high four ground balls and sophomore
Matt Warnken made eight saves in between the pipes.
The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday when they host Union College in the first home game of the season beginning at 1:00 pm.
