#13 Union Hands Bulldogs Loss in Home Opener

Center Valley, PA (March 22, 2014) – #13 Union College scored 15 unanswered goals en route to a 19-1 win over the DeSales University men's lacrosse team in the 2014 season home opener for the Bulldogs on a windy Saturday afternoon.
 
After Union (5-1) opened the game with four straight goals, DSU (0-6) scored with seven seconds left to cut the margin down to 4-1 before the Dutchmen out-scored the Bulldogs 15-0 the rest of the game in the loss.
 
UC out-shot DSU, 54-19, and held a 49-31 edge in ground balls.
 
Junior Ryan Loughlin scored DSU's lone goal and freshman Tyler Ornstein made 16 saves in his first career start in goal.  Ornstein also had a team-high six ground balls.  Loughlin, senior Will Trainor, and sophomore Dylan Baxter each had four ground balls in the loss.
 
The Bulldogs return to action on Wednesday when they return home to host Richard Stockton College in a non-conference game beginning at 4:00 pm.
