Win Streak Snapped at Five in 7-4 Loss to Messiah

Center Valley, PA (April 16, 2014) – Messiah College finished the game with three unanswered goals breaking a tie at four late in the third quarter en route to a 7-4 win over the DeSales University men's lacrosse team on Wednesday afternoon.
 
DSU (5-8) had fought back to tie the game at four with 8:03 left in the third quarter on two straight goals from senior Evan Burns before Messiah (6-7) answered with a goal at the 3:30 mark to re-take a 5-4 lead.
 
The Falcons then scored a man-up goal just 1:15 into the fourth quarter and got an insurance goal with 5:32 remaining to provide the final tally, snapping DeSales' school-record five-game winning streak.
 
Burns finished with two goals and an assist to lead DeSales, while junior Ryan Loughlin and junior Lance Bracale each had one goal and one assist.  Junior Dylan Baxter was outstanding winning 13-of-15 face-offs and picking up seven ground balls and sophomore Matt Warnken had 11 saves in the loss.
 
The Bulldogs return to action on Wednesday, April 23rd when they travel to Misericordia University for a Freedom Conference game beginning at 7:00 pm.
