Center Valley, PA (April 23, 2014) – Senior Brian Mauro went 2-for-2 with his 57th career double breaking the all-time record at DeSales and leading the Bulldogs to a 10-3 win over Haverford College, DSU's first straight victory, in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon.

The win is the 20th of the season for DeSales (20-13) giving head coach Tim Neiman his 20th 20-win season and marks the 15th straight season the Bulldogs have won 20+ games in a year.  Mauro moved into first place all alone with his 57th career two bagger, surpassing Scott Matejicka, who he had tied yesterday with 56 career doubles.

Haverford (16-16) did take a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning before the Bulldogs answered with three runs in the bottom half on an RBI double from freshman Mike Kacergis, two walks, and a Ford error.

Mauro led off the top of the third inning with his record-breaking double and scored on an RBI groundout from sophomore Carrington Santana as the Bulldogs took a 5-1 lead thru three frames.

DSU blew the game open in the fifth scoring five times on three walks, three hits including a bases clearing triple from Kacergis, and a hit batter.

Sophomore Steven Wallace was outstanding on the bump tossing six innings allowing just five hits and walking just one while striking out five.  Senior Kevin Regan earned his first career save tossing three solid innings of relief allowing five hits and two runs.

Kacergis finished with two hits, two runs scored, and four RBIs and senior Mark Westdyk and sophomore Alec Hardy each scored twice in the win.

DSU is off on Thursday and returns to action on Friday when they travel to Delaware Valley College for the first of three Freedom Conference games this weekend with the Aggies beginning at 3:30 pm.
