Lance Bracale scored three goals, including two in the fourth quarter leading the DeSales University men's lacrosse team past FDU-Florham, 7-5, in Freedom Conference action on Wednesday evening.
The win is the fourth straight for the Bulldogs who improve to 4-7 overall and a perfect 3-0 in the Freedom Conference, tied atop the standings with Eastern University. FDU-Florham falls to 6-6 overall and 1-2 in the Freedom.
DeSales jumped out quickly on the Devils scoring four goals in the first quarter to lead 4-0 after one period. FDU fought back and got two goals back in the second quarter as DSU held a 4-2 lead at the half.
A man-up goal by senior
Jacob Bernier gave DSU a 5-2 lead early in the third quarter before FDU scored two straight to pull within 5-4 with 12:38 left to play. Bracale answered the challenge scoring once at the 9:50 mark unassisted and then again with 6:14 to go off an assist from freshman
Justin Wilson to put DeSales up 7-4 and the Bulldogs held on from there.

Ryan Loughlin, Wilson, and freshman
Jake McNamara with one goal each. Senior
James Guerrier, Loughlin, and Wilson each added assists.

Dylan Baxter won 9-of-14 face-offs and picked up four ground balls, junior
Bryan Correnti picked up five ground balls, and sophomore
Matt Warnken made 11 saves for the Bulldogs.
DSU returns to action on Saturday, April 12
th when they host Arcadia University for another Freedom Conference game beginning at 1:00 pm.
