Box Score Season Photo GallerySt. David's, PA (May 3, 2014) – Eastern University scored two goals to finish the second quarter and added five more to start the third period to break a tie at three and held off the Bulldogs, 12-5, in the Freedom Conference Championship game on Saturday afternoon.
After EU (14-4 overall) opened the game with three straight goals in the first quarter the Bulldogs (6-11 overall) showed they weren't going to back down scoring three straight of their own to tie the game at three with 5:57 to go in the first-half.
The Eagles answered with a goal at the 2:41 mark and then took the momentum into the halftime locker room with a tally with just five seconds left.
Eastern then came out firing in the second-half scoring five straight goals to take a 10-3 lead and DeSales was never able to recover.
