Allentown, PA (September 24, 2014) – Muhlenberg College scored five times in the first-half and added three more goals in the second-half recording an 8-2 win over the DeSales University men's soccer team on Wednesday evening.
After the Mules took a 2-0 lead in the 18
th minute DSU cut the lead in half when freshman
Joey Malvestuto scored off a free kick from about 30 yards out.
Muhlenberg wasted no time regaining a two-goal lead scoring 2:11 later and after goals in the 27
th and 34
th minute led 5-1 before senior
Biagio Rimmaudo scored with just seven seconds left in the half to make it a 5-2 game at the break.
MC added three more goals in the second-half, while the Bulldogs were unable to find the back of the net over the final 45 minutes. Senior
Damien Romaine made the lone save in between the pipes for the Bulldogs playing the entire second-half in relief of senior
Colin Sulpizio. The two goals scored are the most scored vs. the Mules this season after they entered the game having only allowed one goal.
The Bulldogs will return to action on Saturday when they return home to host Berkeley College (NJ) on homecoming beginning at 3:30 pm.
