Dallas, PA (October 31, 2015) – Misericordia University broke open a scoreless tie at the half with the first three goals of the second-half en route to a 3-1 win over the DeSales University women's soccer team in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon.
The loss snaps a seven-game winning streak for the Bulldogs (12-5, 6-1 MAC Freedom) who finish the regular season in second place earning the #2 seed in next week's MAC Freedom Tournament beginning on Tuesday with the semifinals. DSU will host King's College who finished one point ahead of Wilkes University for the third seed after its win over Delaware Valley University today.
The Cougars (15-3-1, 7-0 MAC Freedom) broke the tie just 4:32 into the second half on a goal from
Emily Szelfinski and then built a 3-0 lead with goals in the 66
th and 74
th minutes.
DSU broke thru at 78:14 when junior

Angelica Bertola for her 11
th tally of the season to cut the margin down to two goals but the Bulldogs were unable to find the back of the net again.
MU out-shot DSU, 20-8, for the game and had an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks. Junior
Emily Hoats made five saves in net for the Bulldogs.
DeSales returns to action on Tuesday when they open MAC Freedom Tournament play at home hosting King's College at 2:00 pm.
