San Antonio, TX (March 7, 2015) – The DeSales University baseball team wrapped up its spring break trip playing nine games in seven days with two losses to McMurry University on Saturday afternoon by scores of 12-0 and 5-0 to finish the trip with a 3-6 record.
Game One (L/0-12 vs. McMurry)McMurry dominated game one from the very start scoring six times in the first inning, including five runs with two outs to take a 6-0 lead and never really looked back from there. MU added four runs in the third and solo runs in the fifth and sixth innings in the win.
Freshman
Adam Donovan suffered the loss on the hill allowing 10 runs over 2 1/3 innings pitched.
Game Two (L/0-5 vs. McMurry)A scoreless game entering the fifth inning saw McMurry score twice to take a 2-0 lead and added three insurance runs in the eighth inning to earn the three-game sweep of the Bulldogs.
Junior
Steven Wallace took the loss despite pitching very well allowing just seven hits and two runs over 6 1/3 innings pitched. The Bulldogs managed five hits, one each from five different players, including a double from freshman
Conner Lafferty.
The Bulldogs are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday at home vs. Lebanon Valley College but with the recent snow fall last week stay tuned to the DeSales athletics website for all schedule changes as they are announced next week.
