Big Second-Half Pushes King’s Past DeSales, 10-6

Wilkes-Barre, PA (April 4, 2015) – King's College out-scored the DeSales University men's lacrosse team 7-1 in the second-half turning a two-goal halftime deficit into a 10-6 win over the Bulldogs in Freedom Conference action on Wednesday evening.
 
The Bulldogs (3-6, 0-2 Freedom) had control of this game early in the second quarter answering the first goal of the game by the Monarchs (4-5, 1-1 Freedom) with five of the next six goals to take a 5-2 lead with 6:29 left to go in the first-half.  King's got one goal back to finish the half with DeSales leading 5-3 at the break.
 
King's scored the first three goals of the third quarter to take a 6-5 lead before senior Ryan Rowse tied the game at six just 28 seconds later.  The Bulldogs hurt themselves with penalties in the third quarter committing four miscues leading to 4:30 penalty minutes and KC took advantage scoring two man-up goals including the last with 3:19 to go in the quarter to give the hosts an 8-6 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
 
The Monarchs added two more goals in the final quarter, just 57 seconds apart from each other, and DeSales was unable to score, tallying just one goal in the second-half in the loss.
 
Freshman Joe Neggia and Rowse each lead the way with two goals and an assist each.  Sophomores Tyler Newman and Ryan Jordan both scored goals and freshman Josh Harman and senior Ryan Loughlin also had assists in the loss.
 
Senior Bryan Correnti had three ground balls and junior Matt Warnken made 11 saves in between the pipes.
 
The Bulldogs return to action next Wednesday, April 15th when they host Misericordia University in a Freedom Conference game beginning at 4:00 pm.
