Allentown, PA (September 12, 2015) – The DeSales University volleyball team dropped both its matches on day two of the Buttermaker Tournament held at Muhlenberg College falling to Neumann University, 3-1 (25-21, 15-25, 24-26, 25-21) and Moravian College, 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 26-24).
Match #1 (3-1 Loss, 25-21, 15-25, 24-26, 21-25)Freshman
Gabby Savite' led the way with 13 kills, 19 digs, and four blocks and sophomore
Logan Wieziolowski finished with 11 kills and two blocks. Junior
Lisa Wallitsch finished with 34 assists and 14 digs, while freshman
Natalie Gray added 18 digs and two aces.
Match #2 (3-0 Loss, 19-25, 21-25, 24-26)Wieziolowski had a team-high eight kills and three blocks and junior
Jess Swanson played well with seven kills and a .400 hitting percentage in the loss.
Wallitsch added 27 assists and two blocks and both Gray and Savite' had 10 digs. Wieziolowski was the lone Bulldogs named to the All-Tournament team for the weekend.
DSU returns to action on Wednesday, September 16
th when they host King's College in a Freedom Conference match beginning at 7:00 pm.
