Riverdale, NY (September 17, 2015) – NYU scored three times in the first-half and the DeSales University women's soccer team was unable to come all the way back in the second-half dropping a 3-1 decision on Thursday evening.
NYU (4-1) broke open a scoreless tie with two goals in a 2:27 span starting in the 22
nd minute and added a third just 2:22 before the half to take a 3-0 lead into the break.
DeSales (3-3) showed some fight in the second-half pulling within two goals in the 71
st minute when sophomore

Angelica Bertola for her fifth goal of the season. The Bulldogs out-shot NYU, 5-4, in the second-half but were unable to find the back of the net again in the loss.
NYU finished the game with a 12-9 edge in shots, while DSU had a slim 2-1 advantage in corner kicks. Freshman
Haley Jacobs and junior
Emily Hoats each had two saves for the Bulldogs.
DSU returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Alvernia University beginning at 1:00 pm.
