Center Valley, PA (September 26, 2015) – Sophomore
Angelica Bertola scored three first-half goals all in a span of 19:44 leading the DeSales University women's soccer team to a 3-0 homecoming weekend win over Hood College on Saturday afternoon.
Bertola now has a team-high eight goals on the season after her three tallies today. The Bulldogs (5-3) have now won two straight and record their fourth shutout win of the year.
The Bulldogs opened the scoring just 3:44 into the game when Bertola took a terrific pass thru two Hood defenders from sophomore
Danni Engwall, side stepped a charging goalie, and scored into the open net.
Just under 16 minutes later she tallied her second marker as junior
Rachel Shive found her open in front of the net as she one-timed the pass off the post and over the line. Engwall and Bertola struck for a second time just 4:12 later as Bertola collected the rebound off an Engwall shot and finished off the hat trick.
DSU finished the game out-shooting Hood, 14-1, and holding a 2-0 advantage in corner kicks. Junior

Haley Jacobs split time in the second-half to combine on the shutout.
The Bulldogs will look to make it three straight on Wednesday when they host local rival Muhlenberg College beginning at 4:00 pm.
