Center Valley, PA (September 30, 2015) – The DeSales University women's soccer team saw its win streak snapped at two suffering a 4-1 defeat to local rival Muhlenberg College on a drizzly Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action.
Muhlenberg (1-7-1) took an early 1-0 lead in the 14
th minute when
Carly DeNigris connected from 10 yards outside the box on a shot just under the crossbar and over freshman
Haley Jacobs reach. The Mules took a two goal lead at 26:19 when
Emily Jordan fed a steaking
Phoebe Shields who again beat Jacobs high under the crossbar for a 2-0 lead.
The Bulldogs (5-4) needed just 35 seconds to pull back within one goal as sophomore
Angelica Bertola played a long ball to junior
Rachel Shive who beat the Mule keeper inside the right post for her fourth tally of the season and that score stood into the half.
MC got an insurance goal just 4:35 into the second-half as
Siobhan McKenna was unmarked at the top of the 18, took a pass, and fired shot past the Bulldogs keeper. Jordan then put the exclamation point on the Mule win scoring on a free kick from about 35 yards out in the 79
th minute.

Emily Hoats each made two saves in the loss as each played one half.
DeSales will look to start a new winning streak on Saturday as they open MAC Freedom play with an important road contest to start at King's College beginning at 5:00 pm.
