Doylestown, PA (January 22, 2016) – The DeSales University men's basketball team saw its win streak snapped at five suffering a 75-47 loss at Delaware Valley University on Friday evening in MAC Freedom action.
Junior
Kuity Slanger was the top scorer for DeSales (12-5, 4-2 MAC Freedom) with nine points, all of which came in the second-half, while sophomore
Aaron Burton and sophomore
Connor Jones each had eight points in the loss. Burton pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds.
The Aggies were led by
Chris Moran and
Barry Brockington with 21 points each, while
Alex Matsinye added 11 points in the win.
Delaware Valley extended a 32-30 lead to 42-32 at the half out-scoring DeSales 10-2 over the final 4:18. That spurt extended into the second-half as the Aggies out-scored the Bulldogs 26-4 over the first 12 minutes to take a 68-36 lead and never looked back from there.
DSU shot just 35.6 percent from the field for the game. The Aggies hit 45.8 percent from the field and knocked down 12 3's for the game.
Burton is named
A.B.E. Doors and Windows Player of the Game totaling eight points and 10 rebounds.
The Bulldogs return to action on Wednesday when they host Eastern University for a MAC Freedom game beginning at 8:00 pm.
