Center Valley, PA (January 27, 2016) – The DeSales University women's basketball team shot 51.6 percent from the field in the second-half extending a seven-point halftime lead into a 71-52 win over Eastern University in MAC Freedom action on Wednesday evening.
Junior
Morgan McCollian led the charge with 18 points, sophomore
Kaitlin Kelly finished with 17 points, and freshman
Katie Miller had a strong game with 11 points, five assists, and five steals off the bench. Senior
Jen Napolitano added eight points and freshman
Morgan Birmelin finished with nine points and seven assists.

Regie Robinson scored a game-high 20 points and sophomore
Taylor Price also reached double digits with 10 points to lead Eastern (9-9, 3-4 MAC Freedom).
DSU (13-5, 6-1 MAC Freedom) used a 9-0 run mid-way thru the first quarter to take a 13-4 lead and led by as many as 13 points in the second quarter before taking a seven-point lead (29-22) into the locker room as both teams struggled to shoot the ball. The Bulldogs scored 16 of their 29 points off 20 Eagle turnovers in the first-half.
EU cut the margin down to five points (34-39) after a lay-up from
Emily Lavin at the 5:31 mark of the third quarter but an 8-2 run quickly pushed the lead up to 11 points (42-31) and a lay-up at the buzzer from Kelly gave the Bulldogs a 46-34 advantage heading into the final quarter.
The lead never dropped below double digits over the final 10 minutes. After a three from Price pulled Eastern to within 10 (58-48), McCollian scored six straight points and Kelly put the exclamation point on the win with a three at the 1:20 mark giving DeSales a 67-49 lead.
DeSales finished the game shooting 42.2 percent from the field and scored 28 points off 32 Eastern turnovers.
Miller earns
A.B.E. Doors and Windows Player of the Game honors reaching double digits for the first time since December 12
th with a season-high 11 tallies.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday when they travel to King's College for a MAC Freedom game beginning at 1:00 pm.
