Rochester, NY (October 14, 2016) - The DeSales University volleyball team split its first two matches at the RIT Invitational on Friday evening opening with a 3-0 win over St. John Fisher before falling to SUNY-Brockport, 3-0, in the second match.
Match #1 (W/3-0 vs. St. John Fisher)
In the first match of the weekend tournament the Bulldogs rolled past the SJF (9-13) by scores of 25-3, 25-12, 25-18 hitting .304 for the match.

Gabby Savite`Â led the attack with nine kills (.296) and added 12 digs. Â SeniorÂ
Jess Swanson finished with eight kills (.278), sophomoreÂ
Taylor Antoniewicz totaled seven kills (.500), and freshmanÂ
Morghan Shoemaker totaled six kills (.417).

Lisa Wallitsch added 32 assists and 11 digs and sophomoreÂ
Natalie Gray finished with 18 digs.  They each had two aces.
Match #2 (L/0-3 vs. SUNY-Brockport)
After dropping the first 25-16, the Bulldogs (15-9) battled and nearly took the second set, 25-23, before falling in the third, 25-17. Â DSU hit .131 for the match and committed 10 service errors.
Savite` finished with 14 kills and 10 digs, Wallitsch had 29 assists and 11 digs, and Gray totaled 19 digs in the loss.
The Bulldogs are back in action tomorrow when they take on host RIT and Trine University.
