Lucchese Hat Trick Leads Women's Soccer past King's, 4-0

Center Valley, PA (October 8, 2016) - Junior Gabby Lucchese scored three goals leading the DeSales University women's soccer team to a 4-0 win over King's College in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon.

Lucchese scores her first career hat trick tallying one in the first-half and two in the second-half.  She opened the scoring in the 33rd minute as fellow junior Angelica Bertola touched a centering pass from freshman Syndey Amato in front of the goalmouth where Lucchese was ready to pounce for the game's first goal.

The second game 9:45 into the second-half when junior Isabel McPeak sent a pass to senior Jess Wetherhold into the corner and Wetherhold centered the ball in the box where Lucchese was to re-direct the pass into the net.  The third came in the 62nd minute when freshman Claire Bassetti sent a free kick into the box that went off a defender's foot.  Bertola was there to touch the loose ball to Lucchese who fired a shot into the net making it 3-0.

The fourth goal came in the 72nd minute as Wetherhold sent a pass to a streaking Amato who beat the Monarch (3-7, 0-2 Conf.) thru the legs to provide the final tally.
