Center Valley, PA (November 2, 2016) - The DeSales University volleyball team swept Manhattanville College, 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-21), in the MAC Freedom postseason tournament semifinals on Wednesday evening in Billera Hall.
The Bulldogs (23-12) advance into the MAC Freedom Championship game on Saturday at Eastern University, a 3-0 winner over FDU-Florham on Wednesday, with match time set for 2:00 pm. Â DSU advances to the championship match for the sixth straight year.
DSU won its 11th straight match over the Valiants (17-9) on Wednesday hitting .216 for the match, tallying 61 digs, and totaling seven blocks for the match.
Three different Bulldogs recorded double digit kills including freshman
Morghan Shoemaker with 11 kills, senior
Jess Swanson with 10 kills, and sophomore
Gabby Savite` with 10 kills. Â Senior
Lisa Wallitsch finished with 37 assists, 10 digs, and three service aces.
Defensively DSU had five players record double digit digs including Wallitsch, junior
Bernadette Wood with a team-high 16 digs, Savite` with 11 digs, and sophomore
Natalie Gray and sophomore
Tanesia Rehrig with 10 digs.
