Moravian Torches Nets in 105-92 Win over Men's Hoops

Bethlehem, PA (November 22, 2016) - Moravian College tied a school-record with 18 three-pointers and shot 60.0 percent from outside the arc in a 105-92 win over the DeSales University men's basketball team on Tuesday evening in non-conference action in Johnston Hall.

The Bulldogs (2-2) got 20 points from senior Joseph Lococo, a season-high 19 from senior Ryan Callahan, and 12 off the bench from freshman Tracy Simsick in the loss.  DSU also shot well from the field, hitting 53.2 percent but couldn't keep pace with the Greyhounds (3-1).

MC saw six players reach double digits including Brandon McGuire with 22 points and 11 rebounds, CJ Branes (18), Sean Hanna and Isaia Jennings (13), Oneil Holder (12), and Jake McGee (11) in the win.  Moravian finished 18-for-30 from outside the arc and shot 58.7 percent overall of the game.  The Greyhounds got 48 points from its bench alone in the win.

DeSales took an early 7-5 lead after a lay-up from sophomore Luke Connaghan but Moravian countered with three straight 3's to open up a 14-7 run and never really looked back from there.  A three-point play from Lococo at the 11:13 mark cut the margin down to six points but the Bulldogs were never able to get any closer than seven the rest of the half as Moravian took a 55-44 lead into the locker room.

The lead swelled to 16 early oin the second-half before DSU used a 12-5 run to pull within eight (70-62) with 14:18 still remaining but an 11-4 run by Moravian pushed the margin back up to 15 points and peaked at 23 points (94-71) with 5:25 to go.

DeSales is off for the Thanksgiving holidays and will return to action on Wednesday, November 30th when they host Arcadia University in a non-conference game beginning at 8:00 pm.
