Center Valley, PA (November 4, 2016) – The DeSales University women's soccer extended its season with a 2-1 OT win at Wilkes on Wednesday and will travel to top seeded Misericordia University looking to defend its MAC Freedom Championship from last season with kickoff set for 4:00 pm on Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs will enter the championship game with a 9-9 overall record after earning the third seed in the postseason with a 4-3 mark in MAC Freedom play. Misericordia enters the game with a 16-3 overall mark and finished the regular season with a perfect 7-0 mark.
Game time is set for 4:00 pm and admission will be charged for the event and is set at $5.00 for adults, $4.00 for seniors, and $2.00 for students w/valid college ID. All children under the age of six are free.

Gabby Lucchese scored the game-winner with 4:01 left in the first OT period on Wednesday lifting the Bulldogs past Wilkes, 2-1, in the MAC Freedom semifinals. Senior
Jess Wetherhold gave DSU a 1-0 lead in the first-half before the Colonels tied the game with just over 12 minutes left to play. Junior
Angelica Bertola setup the goal winning a 50/50 ball and slotting a pass to Lucchese streaking down the left side as she touched it just past a charging keeper.
DeSales/Misericordia History:
Saturday's game will be the 15
th career meeting between the two teams with the Cougars holding a 12-1-1 overall record in the all-time series. It will be the second career meeting in the postseason after the two met back in the 2014 conference championship game, a 3-0 Misericordia win.
Regular Season Meeting:
Misericordia earned a 3-0 win in the regular season match-up. MU took a 1-0 lead on an own goal and made it 2-0 in the 36
th minute before adding a third goal in the 75
th minute to provide the final score. MU had an 11-6 advantage in shots and a 3-1 edge in corner kicks.
MAC Freedom Postseason History:
DeSales is making its third straight and sixth overall appearance in the MAC Freedom postseason. DSU won its lone championship last season, with a 2-1 win over Wilkes in the championship game. It is the third straight year DSU has advanced into the championship game. The Bulldogs are 1-2 all-time on the road and 4-4 overall in the conference playoffs.
