Center Valley, PA (February 23, 2016) – The DeSales University men's basketball team will open the MAC Freedom Tournament on Wednesday evening as the top seeded Bulldogs host fourth seeded Wilkes University in Billera Hall at 8:00 pm.
The Bulldogs will enter the game with a 19-6 overall record and an 11-3 mark in the MAC Freedom to earn the top seed. The Colonels enter with a 13-12 overall record and an 8-6 mark in the MAC Freedom to earn the fourth seed.
Game time is set for 8:00 pm and admission for the event will be $6.00 for adults, $4.00 for senior citizens, and $2.00 for students w/ID. All children under the age of six are FREE and all DeSales students with a valid student ID will also be admitted for FREE.

DeSales/Wilkes History:DeSales owns a 29-24 lead in the all-time series between the two teams. DSU swept the season series winning game one 73-72 in Billera Hall back on January 20th and winning 76-67 in Wilkes-Barre, PA on February 10th. These two have met four times in the MAC Freedom postseason tournament but not since the 2009 season. DSU is 3-1 vs. the Colonels in those four previous meetings. The Bulldogs are 18-9 all-time vs. Wilkes at home.

Game Two at Wilkes (DSU – 76-67)DeSales used a 20-4 run mid-way thru the second-half to take a 10-point lead and the Bulldogs iced the win from the line hitting 11-of-14 over the final two minutes in the win. Deal and juniors

Brian Laird all had 17 points to lead DeSales. Wizer (18 points) and Robinson (16 points) again led the charge for the Colonels.
DeSales in the MAC Freedom Postseason:The Bulldogs are making their 14
th appearance in the MAC Freedom Tournament and its fourth straight. DeSales has won three MAC Freedom Championships with the last coming in 2014. DSU has a 12-10 all-time record in the MAC Freedom postseason.
