Center Valley, PA (February 23, 2016) – The DeSales University women's basketball team will open the MAC Freedom Tournament on Wednesday evening as the top seeded Bulldogs host fourth seeded Manhattanville College in Billera Hall at 6:00 pm.
The Bulldogs will enter the game with a 19-6 overall record and a 12-2 mark in the MAC Freedom to earn the top seed. The Valiants enter with an 18-7 overall record and a 9-5 mark in the MAC Freedom having tied Delaware Valley University for third place in the standings.
Game time is set for 6:00 pm and admission for the event will be $6.00 for adults, $4.00 for senior citizens, and $2.00 for students w/ID. All children under the age of six are FREE and all DeSales students with a valid student ID will also be admitted for FREE.

DeSales/Manhattanville History:DeSales owns a 19-3 lead in the all-time series between the two teams. DSU swept the season series winning game one 70-57 in Billera Hall back on December 2
nd and winning 82-72 in Purchase, NY last Tuesday. These two have met twice in the MAC Freedom postseason tournament back in 2009 and 2010 with the Bulldogs prevailing both times. DSU is 9-1 all-time vs. the Valiants at home.

Morgan McCollian missed the game with an injury but the Bulldog defense forced 25 Valiant turnovers and scored 26 points off those turnovers in the win. Freshman

Kaitlin Kelly (11 points) each reached double figures off the bench. Senior
Bri Pabon had a team-high 17 points for the Valiants and
Kayleah McGuire tallied 12 tallies off the bench.
Game Two at Manhattanville (DSU – 82-72)McCollian scored a career-high 33 points leading the Bulldogs to the season sweep one week ago. The 82 points was the second most on the season as DSU shot 57.6 percent from the field in the second-half in the win. The Valiants had three players score in double digits including senior
Ashley Franklin (23 points) and fellow seniors Pabon and
Ashley Raaf each with 16 points.
DeSales in the MAC Freedom Postseason:DeSales is making its 19
th straight MAC Freedom Tournament appearance. DSU joined the MAC Freedom at the start of the 1997-98 season and hasn't missed the post-season. The Bulldogs have won six conference titles and are 19-12 all-time in the MAC Freedom postseason.
