Gwynedd Valley, PA (March 19, 2016) – Gwynedd-Mercy University scored the last five goals of the game erasing a 7-5 deficit handing the DeSales University men's lacrosse team a 10-7 loss in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs (0-5) broke 5-5 tie at the half with two early goals in the third quarter to take a 7-5 lead before the Griffins (2-3) pulled to within a goal with just 17 seconds left in the third quarter.
GMU then dominated the fourth quarter scoring four unanswered goals, including two in the first 1:50 to take an 8-7 lead and never looked back from there.
Sophomore
Joe Neggia led the charge for DeSales with two goals and two assists, while senior
Ryan Loughlin added one goal and two assists and sophomore
Josh Harman added three goals. Junior
Jake McNamara scored once and won 9-of-19 face-offs.
Freshman
Matt Barry made his first career start in goal and made eight saves, while McNamara and senior
Tim Barry each had a team-high three ground balls.
The Bulldogs return to action on Wednesday, March 23
rd when they travel to Kean University for a non-conference game beginning at 7:00 pm.
