Glassboro, NJ (March 26, 2016) – Rowan University used two four run innings to pull away from the DeSales University baseball team in a 13-2 win in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.
Rowan (9-9) took a 2-0 lead after one inning but the Bulldogs (6-8) battled back to score twice in the top of the fourth inning to tie the game at two on an RBI double from junior
Mike Kacergis and an RBI groundout from senior
Jay Maletz.
The Profs answered right back with a four-run bottom half of the inning and added four more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 10-2 lead and never looked back from there.
Kacergis finished 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored and sophomore
Conner Lafferty also had a double in the loss.
Freshman
Felix Martinez Jr. took the loss allowing eight hits and six runs over five innings, striking out four.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Monday as they host King's College in games two and three of the three-game set at Butz Field beginning at 1:00 pm.
