San Antonio, TX (March 7, 2016) – The DeSales University baseball team scored five runs in the seventh and four more runs in the eighth to win its first game of its six-game spring trip to San Antonio, TX, 11-4, over University of Mary-Hardin Baylor on Monday afternoon.
 
UMHB (6-9) held a 3-2 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh inning when the Bulldogs (1-1) offense exploded.
 
Senior Alec Hardy knocked in junior Mike Kacergis with an RBI single, junior Danny Licamara plated two runs on a double down the right field line, sophomore Conner Lafferty had an RBI triple, and junior Richie Lancashire knocked in Lafferty with an RBI single.
 
In the eighth junior Tommy DePaul hit a two-run double to right center field, senior Colby Kulig hit a sacrifice fly, and Licamara plated DePaul with an RBI single.
 
Sophomore Adam Donovan pitched well going 5 1/3 innings allowing four hits and two earned runs, striking out four.  Junior Tyler Cooperman earned the win pitching the final 3 2/3 innings allowing just three hits and one run.
 
DePaul finished with three hits, two runs, and two RBIs, Kulig knocked in two runs, Licamara added two hits and three RBIs, and Lafferty had two hits, two runs, and two RBIs, including a solo home run in the second inning.  Freshman Tommy Epsaro also had two hits and scored twice in the win.
 
The Bulldogs are back in action tomorrow afternoon at Schreiner University.
