Camden, NJ (April 12, 2016) – The DeSales University baseball team saw its six-game winning streak snapped with a 4-1 loss at Rutgers-Camden in a non-conference game on Tuesday afternoon.
The Bulldogs (15-10) managed just four hits in the loss but did take a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning when sophomore
Conner Lafferty doubled and scored on an error with two outs by Rutgers-Camden (14-8).
Camden answered with two runs in the bottom of the first inning and added solo runs in the third and fourth inning.
DeSales had a runner on third with one out in the third inning but was unable to plate him and had two runners on with one out in the eighth inning before two strikeouts ended the threat.
Freshman
Felix Martinez Jr. suffered the loss allowing eight hits and four runs over 4 2/3 innings pitched.
The Bulldogs return to action on Friday when they begin a five games in three days stretch at FDU-Florham for a MAC Freedom game beginning at 3:30 pm.
