Big First-Half Leads Men’s Lacrosse Past Delaware Valley, 16-9

Center Valley, PA (April 16, 2016) – The DeSales University men's lacrosse team scored eight straight goals at one point in the first-half and out-scored Delaware Valley University, 11-3, in the first-half en route to a 16-9 win over the Aggies in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon.
 
After the Aggies (5-6, 1-2 MAC Freedom) scored the game's first goal just 1:28 into the game, the Bulldogs (3-7, 3-0 MAC Freedom) countered with eight straight tallies, including four in a span of 59 seconds to open the second quarter that all but put the game out of reach.
 
Del. Val. pulled to within 12-5 early in the third quarter before DSU finished the quarter scoring three straight goals to take a 15-5 lead into the final quarter before the final tally was posted.
 
Junior Jake McNamara was the catalyst all day winning 17-of-27 face-offs and picking up a team-high seven ground balls in the win.  Freshman Nick Altland also played well on face-offs picking up six ground balls and added a goal in the win.
 
The scoring attack was led by senior Ryan Loughlin with four goals and an assist, while sophomore Joe Neggia and junior Justin Wilson each had two goals and two assists.  Sophomore Bryan Weber finished with three goals, junior Tyler Newman and sophomore Josh Harman each had one goal and two assists, and sophomore Tommy Friedman had two goals.  Freshman John Ramos rounded out the scoring with an assist in the win.
 
Senior Matt Warnken was once again stellar in goal making seven saves in three quarters of play allowing just six goals.
 
The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to FDU-Florham for another MAC Freedom game beginning at 7:00 pm.
