Center Valley, PA (September 28, 2016) - Sophomores
Max Cortina and
Zach Reichard each scored off rebounds in the second-half leading the DeSales University men's soccer team past Albright College, 2-0, in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon.
The win increases DSU's (5-4-1) unbeaten streak to five straight as the Bulldogs are 4-0-1 in their last five games. DeSales had a 14-8 edge in shots (6-1 on goal) and held a 10-2 advantage in corner kicks in the game. Junior
Dan Sulpizio made one save to record his second straight shutout.
After a scoreless first-half Cortina gave DSU a 1-0 lead in the 55th minute when he poked home the rebound of his own shot for his third goal of the year. Just over six minutes later the Bulldogs got an insurance goal as Reichard was there to blast home the rebound of a shot from fellow sophomore
Michael Kirby. It was Reichard's fifth marker of the season.
The Bulldogs will look to stay unbeaten in six straight on Saturday when they open MAC Freedom play at FDU-Florham with game time set for 3:00 pm.
