Bridgewater, VA (September 3, 2016) - Bridgewater College (VA) broke a scoreless tie in the 86th minute defeating the DeSales University men's soccer team, 1-0, in a non-conference game on Saturday evening.

The game seemed headed for overtime before a crossing pass in the box was just outside the reach of DSU goalkeeper Ryan O'Neill and Michael Lachniet was there to tap in the loose ball in the net in front of the goalmouth to break the tie and give BC (1-0) the win.

DeSales (0-2) had 12-8 advantage in shots and a 10-2 lead in corner kicks for the game but were unable to find a marker.  O'Neill finished with four saves in the loss.

DSU is back in action tomorrow when they take on Eastern Mennonite University with kickoff set for 3:00 pm.
