Reading, PA (September 7, 2016) - Junior
Danni Engwall knocked home a pass from sophomore
Caroline Nealon in the 53rd minute breaking a scoreless tie and lifting the DeSales University women's soccer team past Albright College in non-conference action on Wednesday evening.
The goal came off a corner kick from senior
Jess Wetherhold in which junior
Isabel McPeak took the initial shot off the corner feed. The rebound bounced around and Nealon while falling down touched the ball to Engwall who was all alone in front of the goal as she tapped in the goal giving DSU (3-1) a 1-0 lead and ultimately the win.
The Bulldogs out-shot the Lions (0-3), 8-6, and had a 3-1 edge in shots on goal. Senior
Emily Hoats made one save to record her first shutout of the season in the win.
DeSales is back in action on Saturday when they host Utica College in another non-conference game beginning at 1:00 pm.
