Center Valley, PA (January 11, 2017) - The DeSales University women's basketball team forced 28 turnovers and held Manhattanville College to 24.1 percent shooting to stay unbeaten in MAC Freedom play with a 65-40 win over the Valiants on Wednesday evening in Billera Hall.

Morgan McCollian led the offensive charge with a game-high 16 points and eight rebounds and sophomoreÂ
Morgan Birmelin added 12 points and six assists.  SeniorÂ
Nikki Callahan also had a strong effort with seven points, seven rebounds, three assists, two steals, and two blocks.
The Valiants (5-8, 1-2 MAC Freedom) got a team-high 15 points fromÂ
Kayleah McGuire in the loss.
Leading by one (7-6) early in the first quarter DSU (11-2, 3-0 MAC Freedom) used an 8-0 run, led by six points from Birmelin, to take a 15-6 lead. Â MVC chipped away at the margin and got within three points (21-18) midway thru the second quarter before a 9-1 run pushed the Bulldogs lead up to 11 points before settling for a 30-21 edge at the break.
Early in the third quarter DeSales led by just five points before a 16-1 run over a span of 4:16 pushed the advantage to 20 (48-28) and the Bulldogs never looked back. Â Callahan led the game clinching spurt with five points as six different players scored during the run.
DSU took advantage of the Valiants 28 turnovers scoring 21 points and dominated the paint out-scoring MVC, 38-18, in the lane. Â DeSales finished the game shooting 37.5 percent, 46.4 percent in the second-half.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday when they travel to FDU-Florham in a match-up of the last two unbeatens in MAC Freedom play this season. Â Game time is set for 1:00 pm.
